How often do you go out and eat? Do you spend money that you know you should be saving? Are you spending money on things that you really don’t need? The reason I ask these things is because this is what financial professionals and investment planners call wasted money. What you need to understand about wasted money is that once it is gone there is nothing you can do to get it back. Tips to eliminate wasted money Don’t eat out – The first tip is not to eat out. Most families will spend around $100 a month on take-out food and this is a huge expense over the course of a year. Do yourself and your family a favor and buy all the food you want to eat from the grocery store, this will save you close to 75% of what you would spend at a take-out facility. 24 hour rule – Something that has worked for so many people is the 24 hour rule.
What you need to understand about the 24 hour rule is that it states that you have to wait 24 hours before you buy anything. How this works is when you see an item that you really want you have to wait until the next day in order to buy it. The reason why this works so well is because you will either forget about the item or you will talk yourself out of it. The last thing you must understand about wasted money is that it happens all over the place. One example of wasted money is when you buy a soda from a vending machine, it would be more beneficial if you bought a back of soda from the grocery store and then brought one with you wherever you went. My advice to you is just to think about what you spend and try to plan ahead of it.
